Here will be an ever-growing list of things you can do during the day to cultivate more peace, find calmness, and come back to the present. This list will consist of all sorts of things, big or small, time-consuming or five minutes, whatever works for you. <3
- Go on a walk
- Belt out the lyrics to your favorite song
- Do some yoga
- Draw a picture for yourself or loved one
- Meditate for however long you want
- Clean a living space
- Caress your body
- Smile at yourself in the mirror
- Read a chapter of an interesting book (or the whole book if you’re feeling fancy)
- Stretch
- Drink water and pay attention to the sensations you feel
- Sit in silence for a few minutes and notice your surroundings
- Take deep breaths (breathe in, hold it and count to four, breathe out)
- Cook your favorite meal
- Sit on a bench in your neighborhood park
- People watch
- Write out your thoughts/feelings in a journal
- Eat a delicious snack and notice the sensations you feel, the tastes you…taste
